How we help…
We take donated cars and refresh them, sometimes with a simple tune up, sometimes a fresh coat of paint or some light body work. We make sure they are safe and ready for the road again. Here are some of the cars we have fixed up and put back on the roads for those in need:
2004 Toyota Echo
2007 Ford Freestar
A residential program to transition women back into society and improve their chances of success and avoid returning to a lifestyle that returns them to prison. This vehicle allowed her to visit her children in Morgantown on weekends while she completed the program. She has now moved back to Morgantown with her children and is doing well.
2003 Hyundai Tiburon
1998 Toyota Camry
2005 Honda Civic
Current Project - Toyota Avalon
When we receive a car as a donation we check it for any potential problems. We just replaced the timing belt in this Toyota Avalon and are changing the spark plugs. It is our hope that the future owner of this vehicle will be be able to use it for many years to come.
All the work we do on these vehicles comes at a cost, spark plugs, tires, paint and oil all add up. If you would like to help out Rolling Start, you can donate through PayPal below.
100% Recycled Fun
Ed, one of our members has spent years wood working and carving and has recently tried his hand at working in metal. He takes old engine pieces and tools and crafts them into these wonderful sculptures.
Working with others
The group has donated several of these works of art to the Cherokee Rodder’s annual car shows to be given away as trophies. In exchange, they have made several generous donations to our organization which we have used to purchase parts and supplies to help rebuild the cars we provide.
